Medium has no shortage of articles of misogyny being 100% the fault of men. It is 100% the responsibility of men to fix misogyny.
An article of this vein came my way. I read it. Should I give my unpopular comment again and risk getting flamed? Or should I just stay quiet?
I gave my comment. Here is my response:
I’m going to say something politically incorrect, but let me qualify a few things:
1. Bras and high heeled shoes are stupid. They are fashion statements to perpetuate misogyny.
2. So too are tattered jeans with custom designed rips to “show skin” — and unlikely to get 50 laundry rounds before being tossed into a land fill.
3. If a woman gets naked and dances on a man’s lap and he rapes her, he should go to prison.
If a woman’s value system is about being sexually desirable to men, there is something wrong with that value system. Unfortunately, there is no device that can measure between “being comfortable” and “being sexually desirable.” Each woman will have to figure their own intention on this matter.
The Result
I did not get flamed.
I actually got more readers for this response than I get for my articles on my alternative democracy. And more claps than usual.
