These days, the media is full of talk about the Epstein files. The political left is dancing in the streets because this might be the issue that brings down Donald Trump.
In 2007, Epstein was arrested and convicted for sex trafficking. He served a minor prison sentence. That was 18 years ago.
In 2019, he was arrested and convicted again. This time, the sentence was more appropriate. That was six years ago.
As we know, he died under mysterious circumstances. I will stay out of this controversy.
My question is: “Why didn’t the authorities go after the men who partook in Epstein’s harem?” After all, the harem were not adults. We have sent other men to prison for having sex with a minor.
We already know the answer to this question. A large flock of rich men were above the law. While a few were sacrificed on the alter of public humiliation, most have gotten away with their crimes. Had our legal system been serious about prosecution, many more should have fallen to public humiliation and prison time.
Think about the business matrix of the Epstein harem. A private jet nicknamed “Lolita Express” ferried Epstein clients here and there. A mansion in Manhattan. A ranch in New Mexico. A private island in the Caribbean. None of these are cheap to run, even for a rich financier. It is hard to believe that Epstein provided this service for years just so he could hobnob with the rich and famous. Did he charge high fees? Did he get political favors? Did he get celebrity recommendations? Were his customers blackmailed? After 18 years, no one seems to know where the money came from to run this big business.
Epstein’s Wikipedia article says at least 1000 young women went through his harem. That is another sign that there must have been several thousand rich men visiting Epstein’s harem-for-rent. Politicians, business leaders, financiers, lawyers, doctors, engineers, accountants, professors, journalists, aristocrats, celebrities (sport and entertainment) all partook, normalizing the abuse of young women. And making high-powered connections to further their careers and wealth.
High society probably knew before 2007 that Epstein was offering a harem-for-rent. Such an operation is hard to keep underground. While members of this society decided whether to associate with this man or not, most of them condoned this operation by staying silent.
Where are those 1000+ women today?
The Epstein files have been held back for years. I can only speculate the wealthy class does not want the public to know how many wealthy men partook in the Epstein adventures. So the power insiders have been shutting down any possibility of serious investigation. Maybe they are on the list. Maybe they have friends on the list. Maybe many favors have been exchanged to keep things quiet.
But why is this an issue now?
Before I give my hypothesis, let me first refer readers to Hypernormalization 2016.
This documentary shows how political theater has become better at achieving certain political outcomes.
For example, I believe that the Democratic National Congress and left-wing media did whatever they could to get the buffoon elected as the candidate in the 2016 Republican primary. While that political theater succeeded in one way, it failed in another. Imagine the USA today if the much more sensible John Kasich had been selected.
Political theater has been around for a long time. I was a small player in Canadian politics between 1986 to 1992. My small insider groups tried to create our own theater to attain a certain outcome. Our faction often had our own meetings to prepare our theater for the big meeting a few days later. I remember one political meeting where we spent much time on the wording of one political brochure. We were looking for a certain political effect — and every word mattered!
After watching the documentary, I believe that nothing in big politics is spontaneous or amateurish anymore. Everything is highly orchestrated. The makers of today’s political theater are very professional in applying their skills. They are paid a lot of money. This does not mean these makers are always successful, but they are much more skillful than they used to be. For sure, they are not the amateurs of three decades ago.
So should we assume that MAGA is now deeply troubled by the intransigence of its leader? After all, he has broken promises before. He has conned them to buy his merchandise. He was a failed business leader. By word and deed, he is a proven misogynist. He mismanaged COVID and George Floyd. He had set up an insurrection. He is mismanaging the American economy. He and his minions have taken away jobs and government benefits from his own base. Yet he retained his loyal following through all this.
He has had years to come clean with the Epstein files. Was MAGA really looking forward to this event? For some strange reason, this one issue of many issues threatens to topple him.
I believe a certain backroom force is financing and directing some agitators to make the Epstein files a bigger issue.
I say to look at the second-string quarterback for manipulating events in this way. He and Project 2025 people stand the most to gain for forcing an obviously ill and somewhat uncontrollable president out of office, sooner than later. These people are probably not in the Epstein files. The timing seems to be right to make this move now.
The outcome has turned out better than expected. Even the left-wing chatter class seems to be helping the issue along. The political left should not be dancing in the street. They have likely been manipulated by the political forces they are opposing. If the change of office does happen, MAGA will be re-united with itself.
If I am correct in the above assertion, then this has been a masterful piece of political theater.
But I have been wrong before in political forecasting. So I will just say that my speculations are indeed only speculations. Even if these political machinations are actually happening, we may never have the full proof. But, for some reason, the Epstein files have been held back.
Can you answer: “Why now?”?
My solution
My few loyal lukewarm fans know that I am an inventor of an alternative democracy. I say this new democracy will cast aside most of the political theater we see today. It will cast aside most of the perceptions, conjectures, and conclusions we average citizens may come to — rightly or wrongly — as we try to determine what the powerful people are doing. We have our suspicions, do we not?
Should we continue to let these screenwriters and directors write the political script for us to follow? Their skills are likely to improve in the coming decade.
Or should we build a new way? With a more organic storyline? Like people actually working together to solve real problems rather than argue over who gets to sit in the high chair?
Follow my byline if interested in this new way.
Otherwise, expect more and better political theater.
