If we want the kinder, wiser democracy we so yearn for, we will have to build it ourselves.
The people in the list below will not build this new democracy for us — no matter how we tell or threaten them.
And we don’t need them. Actually, we don’t want them — until later.
1. We need not get permission from the political elite.
2. We need not get permission from the wealthy.
3. We need not get permission from the media.
4. We need not get permission from civil authorities.
5. We need not get permission from the academics.
6. We need not get permission from 51% of our neighbors.
One percent (1%) of us can start building this democracy. Today. This movement will grow because we started.
Every day we don’t start building, the implementation of this new democracy is delayed by one day.
And should not a democracy "for the people" actually be built "by the people"?
