TDG-Medium Papers

The writing of my three TDG novels took an interesting journey. At first, I was just going to write these novels, put them in e-book and website formats, run a few ads to their home pages, and see what happens.

Then I found Medium in April 2019. Within two months, I realized that the probability of convincing Medium readers to build a new democracy was small. I almost quit Medium.

But I saw the possibility that my TDG novels could go somewhere on Medium. But first, I needed to build my Medium audience. A bigger audience would mean more readers for my novels. More readers would mean more people liking the TDG concept. By September 2021, I had written 175 essays and made 5000 responses to build my fan base of 1000 readers. But these readers were not interested in my novels. My marketing plan did not work out.

But I had written many short TDG articles. How could I repurpose them? How could I take advantage of the effort I had already put into them?

Answer: I could put them into one TDG compilation! A collection of short essays would be a different way to teach about the TDG than my quasi-academic TDG book and three TDG novels.

So 133 of my TDG essays on Medium have become The TDG-Medium Papers. I just launched this book on May 22.

Amazon has some marketing tools that might help move the TDG forward.

First is Amazon’s book advertising feature. I can pay a little money to get The TDG-Medium Papers more noticed by readers who are interested in democracy and politics. Currently, I am paying $0.25 per click. If 10 clicks result in a sale, I have a little profit, which will justify in buying more ads to introduce more citizens to the TDG concept. Hopefully, readers who will buy this book will also buy the other four TDG books and recommend the TDG concept to their social circles. Better yet, they will start building the TDG in their neighborhood.

Second is Amazon’s Unlimited feature. Some Amazon readers pay a little money to belong to this Amazon club. They can read whatever books are under this umbrella for no extra charge. Amazon pays me a little royalty for when The TDG-Medium Papers is downloaded. The royalty is a side benefit; I just want to reach these readers.

The disadvantage with Unlimited is that I have to give Amazon exclusivity for this book. No other e-book retailer is allowed to carry it! I cannot put this book on my website for a free read, like I have done for my other four e-books. But these e-books are already not being read, so it makes sense to try Amazon Unlimited.

Methinks The TDG-Medium Papers is a much better fit for these two marketing tools than my other four books. We will soon see.

If you are not an Amazon Unlimited customer, you can still buy The TDG-Medium Papers for US$8.50.

If you buy The TDG-Medium Papers now, you will be the first one! That is something to brag about — when the TDG becomes famous.

But really, I am looking for TDG builders. These are the people who will move democracy forward.
